Stephen Mear- Stephen joins us at Stagebox Musical Theatre as Patron for our company with Elite Teams and clients based in London, Leeds and Manchester! We are immensely proud to have Stephen’s support as one of the world’s most esteemed multi award winning choreographers and directors! Stephen joined us at The Savoy Theatre to cast our London Elite Team and we are delighted that he will continue to work with Stagebox supporting the training of the next generation of outstanding young talent!

Stephen is a double Olivier award winner and Tony nominated choreographer. He has just finished directing and choreographing 42nd Street at The Theatre Du Chatelet in Paris. He also choreographed the revival of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which began at The West Yorkshire Playhouse in December 2015 and the show continues touring the UK into 2017. Mary Poppins has returned for a UK and International Tour this year with joint choreography by Stephen Mear and Matthew Bourne! Rather extraordinarily two of Stephen’s shows are also in the process of transferring to Broadway, Sunset Boulevard starring Glenn Close and Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton! Across the pond, Stephen has already choreographed the Broadway musical version of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Die Fledermaus (Metropolitan Opera New York) and Ragtime/Dreamgirls (Milwaukee Repertory Theatre).

Danielle Hope-  West End leading lady Danielle Hope joins Stagebox as Patron! Danielle Hope was the winner of the BBC talent contest Over The Rainbow and as a result played the part of Dorothy in the Andrew Lloyd Webber production of The Wizard of Oz, which began performances in the West End at the London Palladium in February 2011. Credits include Eponine in Les Miserables in the West End, starting in June 2012. She also played the role of Narrator in the UK Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in 2014. Most recently, Danielle starred as Maria Von Trapp in the UK Tour of The Sound of Music. In 2017, Danielle will take on the role of Sandy in the UK Tour of Grease! Danielle starred in the Magic of the Musicals UK Tour alongside our Stageboxers and we are delighted that Danielle will be joining us as our Patron. Danielle will lead workshops with our Elite Teams and work closely with us over the coming years. She is an incredible role model for our pupils and we are over the moon to be welcoming her to our Stagebox family!

Executive Directors & Producers: Emily & L-J Keston

Emily and L-J Keston are identical twin British Executive Directors specialising in children’s theatrical talent, casting and production. Keston & Keston launched Stagebox, a brand new theatrical workshop concept for talented and aspiring professional performers (aged 7-18 years old) designed to train, enhance and showcase young musical theatre talent in a professional company and training programme. Emily and L-J performed in numerous theatrical, television and film productions including Jenny & Rosie Dolly (The Dolly Sisters) in Mr Selfridge (ITV), The Safe House (ITV), Seeing Red (ITV), Tati’s Hotel (ITV), Bridget Jones and the Edge of Reason (Miramax), Original Cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium) and Annie (UK Tour). For Emily and L-J’s work as Executive Directors the duo were recognised at The Yorkshire Young Achiever Awards for their achievement following in the footsteps of previous award winners including Matthew Warchus (Matilda Director, RSC), Kimberley Walsh and The Kaiser Chiefs. Stagebox is also nominated for The Yorkshire Choice Awards 2017. L-J gained a Law degree (LLB) from the University of Bristol where she was the Vice Chancellor Scholar for Music and Drama whilst Emily is a graduate of The University of Sheffield winning the ITV News Award. Their development of young talent is recognised nationally and internationally with the pair providing outstanding opportunities for children in the North of England and now London. Artistic Director: Sammy Murray

Sammy Murray trained at the Royal Ballet School, Guildhall School of Drama and performed in theatre, film and TV for some 20 years before moving into Directing and Choreography.

Sammy Murray is currently choreographing for ITV’s new drama “Victoria” (Series 1 and 2), starring Jenna Coleman. Sammy’s most recent work in 2017 is Witness for the Prosecution (BBC) and Endeavour (ITV). Resident Musical Director, Peter Marshall Russell

Peter is the Resident Musical Director at Stagebox. Most recently Peter was the Children’s Rehearsal Pianist for Mary Poppins (International Tour, Dubai) and the Musical Director for Live in London at The Royal Court. Most recently he played live for Magic of the Musicals (UK Tour). Peter works closely with leading production companies, brands and agencies. He is currently working on a new documentary for ITV, as well as a brand-new feature-documentary starring Stephen Hawking. In 2015, he worked with ITV Studios to produce music for their primetime television show, Keep It In The Family with Bradley Walsh.

Peter has had music placed on national and international networks, most recently his music appeared on US Network, Reelz Channel about Glee Star Cory Monteith, on ‘Autopsy: Cory Monteith’. Peter has also written music for many companies and worldwide brands including; Sheffield Theatres and other theatrical brands

Much of Peter’s music has been published on labels released by production music giants De Wolfe Music, Altitude Music & Synctracks and is regularly placed on national and international TV/commercials. Peter is a classically trained pianist and musical director, having studied under Gordon Fergus-Thompson and Ian Jones, at the Royal College of Music, London, and Valentina Kalashnik at the University of Sheffield.

West End Vocal Coaches, Julie Gossage and Richard Halton are Stagebox Elite Team London Resident Vocal Coaches and Consultants in Leeds & Manchester!

We are proud and privileged to announce our vocal training will be led permanently by our outstanding duo straight from the West End!

Julie and Richard train countless West End stars currently appearing as lead roles including Olivier Award nominees.

We will work with their fabulous training model here at Stagebox and it is something we feel passionately about whilst working with young people! The Vocal Balance Technique produces voices that are strong, flexible, free and healthy, allowing you to sing for long periods of time without fatigue or strain. It is based on the Italian idea of “Bel Canto” or Beautiful Singing. It is a blend of ideas, techniques and practices, evolved over many years, which have achieved some quite simply amazing results!

Julie was born in Staffordshire in the UK and trained for six years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. On leaving she was invited to join the Welsh National Opera where she performed such roles as Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro), Flora (La Traviata), Dorabella (Cosi fan Tutte) and Rosina (The Barber of Seville). Julie has also performed at The English National Opera as Hansel (Hansel and Gretel) and Pitti-Sing in the acclaimed Jonathan Miller production of The Mikado.

She has over 20 years of experience teaching both in the UK and internationally.

Other work includes, Zerlina (Don Giovanni) for English Touring Opera, Aurelio (L’Assedio di Calais) for Wexford Festival Opera amongst many others. Recordings include Edith (The Pirates of Penzance) conducted by the late Sir Charles Mackerras for TER Records. She has also given numerous recitals and concerts to a wide range of audiences.

Richard studied singing at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and with Renato Cappecchi in the USA.
On leaving GSMD he enjoyed a 20-year career continuously in work performing over 40 principal roles with all the major British Opera companies, collaborating with many of the world’s finest conductors, directors and choreographers. He has also given recitals, concerts, oratorios at home and abroad, and taken part in many commercially released recordings. He was also versatile enough to take on, amongst others, the title role in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London and Ravenal in Showboat, which he performed for nearly two years on national tour and twice at The London Palladium.

Julie and Richard will train our Elite Teams vocally and intensively throughout the programmes and courses.

Pippa Cleary & Jake Brunger– “One of musical theatre’s most dynamic writing partnerships” – The Stage

Jake and Pippa’s most recent musical adaptation of Sue Townsend’s The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole ran at Leicester’s Curve Theatre, where it was nominated for the 2015 UK Theatre Award for Best Show for Children and Young People, and their original new musical Prodigy, commissioned by National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT), ran at the St James Theatre in August 2015 (Original Cast Recording due for release in Spring 2016).

Their new adaptation of Treasure Island opened for a six week run at Singapore Repertory Theatre in October 2015, and the UK premiere of Red Riding Hood was the Pleasance Theatre’s 2015/6 Christmas show, produced by Paul Taylor Mills. They are Associate Artists of Leicester Curve.

Other works include: Jet Set Go! (George Square Theatre/Jermyn Street Theatre). The Great British Soap Opera (George Square Theatre/Jermyn Street Theatre), Mallory Towers, Hey Beautiful People (Soho Theatre), Prodigy (NYMT) and Red Riding Hood (Singapore Repertory Theatre).

They were the first British writers to be accepted onto the Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project in Chicago, where they were mentored by Tony-nominated lyricist Craig Carnelia and Jon Lind, former head of A&R at Hollywood Records, culminating in a sell-out concert at the Josephine Louis Theater.

Their musical adaptation of Red Riding Hood ran for six weeks at Singapore Repertory Theatre, where it was seen by over 20,000 people. Red Riding Hood is available for worldwide licensing by Rodgers and Hammerstein Theatricals. They also wrote the music and lyrics for The Snow Gorilla, which was the Rose Theatre Kingston Christmas show, featuring the voice of Brian Blessed.

Jane McMurtrie-West End Associate Choreographer/Children’s Director. Jane is currently Resident Choreographer on Groundhog Day and was Children’s Director on Gypsy and Associate Choreographer on Legally Blonde across the world.

Joanna Goodwin– West End performer and Choreographer Jo is currently the Associate Choreographer on the UK Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Chris Hocking (Director of Musical Theatre and Acting & Deputy Principal at the prestigious, world class Arts Educational School, London- Before taking on his position at Arts Ed, Chris choreographed the UK tours of Oklahoma!, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, South Pacific, Fiddler On The Roof, Jekyll and Hyde and The Rise & Fall of Little Voice. After training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance she began her career working for The Walt Disney Company (US) as a performer, before building a career as a choreographer in Ireland. Shaun Henson: Shaun Henson has been a performer in the West End for over 25 years. He has featured in over 22 West End shows, including CATS, Miss Saigon, My Fair Lady, Billy Elliot, The Witches of Eastwick, Les Miserables, Lord of the Rings, Anything Goes, Tommy & Kiss Me Kate to name a few.
Film credits include: Oklahoma, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat & Jesus Christ Superstar.  Shaun has worked extensively in TV, and been a vocalist on a number of original cast albums. He has vast musical theatre experience and enjoys passing on his knowledge through his teaching. As a choreographer, Shaun has implemented workshops and masterclasses at some of the most respected theatre schools and colleges around the country, such as Italia Conti, Laine Theatre Arts, Performers, Millennium, Guildford School of Acting, London School of Musical Theatre, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Pineapple Dance Studios.

Steven Harris– West End Choreographer. Steven was Associate Choreographer for the Original West End Cast of Stephen Ward at The Aldwych. The Sound of Music (KLCC Kuala Lumpur), Chess Co-Director/ Choreographer (Union Theatre and Offies Nominee for Best Choreographer 2014) Laughing Matters for Celia Imrie ( St James Theatre London). 

Caroline Hurst (Certified Master Teacher of Estill Voice Training)–  Caroline Hurst, Head of Singing. Caroline lectures and coaches in musical theatre singing at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Mountview Academy of Performing Arts and has her own private practice in London, Manchester and Glasgow. She performed professionally in opera, recital, concert and musical theatre for a number of years before discovering her passion for teaching and the Estill Model!

Caroline graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2000 with BA Musical Studies (Hons) and MMus (Advanced Opera). She also attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Further Education Teaching and is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Arts Education at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Caroline qualified as a Certified Master Teacher of Estill in October 2006.

Damien Delaney– Children’s Dance Captain & West End Performer. Damien was the Children’s Dance Captain on Billy Elliot for 4 years.

Anthony Whiteman– Choreographer. Anthony was the Associate Choreographer on Mary Poppins. Anthony was also Dance Captain on Billy Elliot.

Jerry Knight Smith CDG– Casting Director, The Royal Exchange.

Carl Sanderson- Carl has just returned from playing Bert Berry in Stephen Mear’s “42 Street” at Theatré Du Chatelet and prior to that was also Resident Director on Hairspray! UK Tour!

Emily Charlton- Emily is an internationally acclaimed world championship dance coach, choreographer and Elite trainer. Emily recently won the Barbara Sharples International Choreographic Awards. Emily’s specialism is training and nurturing young talent and we feel honoured that she will join our team. Her pupils are currently World Champion title holders and Emily continues to lead masterclasses internationally as well as teaching her own pupils at The Vale School of Dance. Instagram: valedance27

Charlotte Mason-Apps- Charlotte has extensive West End, TV and Film credits and was most recently on our screens playing Corabelle in “Harry Price: Ghost Hunter” (2016) and in Witness for the Prosecution (Mammoth/BBC). Charlotte was also recently a professional dancer on Series 1 of ITV’s “Victoria” starring Jenna Coleman. Charlotte trained in Musical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting (MA, GSA) after studying for her medical degree at the University of Bristol, and her other professional credits include: Pan (2015), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Star Wars: Rogue One (Disney, in production), Sincerely Mr Todd (Greenwich Theatre), A Christmas Carol (Greenwich Playhouse) A Little Chaos (BBC), White Christmas (Pitlochry Festival Theatre), Annie (UK Tour), Tommy (Original London Cast), Ruth Rendell: May and June (ITV), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (Paramount Pictures), Phantom of the Opera and Harry Potter (Warner Bros).

Christina Tedders– West End Actor Musician. Christina is currently rehearsing for The Commitments UK Tour having just finished the UK Tour of Calamity Jane alongside Jodie Prenger. She also played Girl on numerous occasions in the original London cast of Once.

Sarah Cortez- Sarah has worked extensively in the West End as a performer and Dance Captain. Anna Swan- Anna trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School. Film and TV credits include A Royal Night Out, Winter, We’ll Take Manhattan and most recently ITV’s Victoria. Stage credits include The Merry Wives of Windsor (RSC), La Boheme (The Soho Theatre) & Catnip (Arts Theatre). Anna is also a writer and made a TV pilot Kerry in which she plays the title role. The pilot is currently in script development.
Anna taught on the East 15 Acting School Children’s workshops for three years, working with children from 8 to 18. She also assisted with the Southwark Playhouse on Wasted by Kate Tempest. Anna teaches one to one preparation for auditions and drama school auditions.
Anna is currently preparing to play the role of Bella in Gaslight.
